Gamblers fall short in overtime

In the first of a three-day stretch, the Green Bay Gamblers dropped their first game against the Muskegon Lumberjacks in overtime, 3-2. Muskegon got on the board first with a powerplay goal. Muskegon would score again in regulation. The Gamblers would get goals from Xan Gurney in the second period and Matt DeBoer in the third. At the end of regulation, the score was knotted at two. In the overtime period it was the Lumberjacks’ Danil Gushchin who scored the winning goal.

With the loss, the Gamblers drop to 24-11-3, and are in second place in the USHL Eastern Division. Green Bay has little time to worry about standings, as they’ll be back in house to play the Lumberjacks again on Saturday. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 P.M.
