Brewers, Rockies exchange blows

On a day where both teams' bats were connecting, the Milwaukee Brewers fell to the Colorado Rockies, 9-8. Milwaukee would give up two runs in the bottom of the first but tighten the gap with a run in the bottom of the inning on a solo home run by Kolten Wong, who would hit for his third for the Spring session. In the bottom of the third inning and down 3-1, Milwaukee’s Christian Yelich would hit a grand slam which would score Daniel Robertson, Kolten Wong, and Lorenzo Cain. Travis Shaw would follow that with a two run homer that would bring home Avisail Garcia. After leading 7-3 heading into the fourth, Milwaukee appeared to take control. However, Colorado stormed right back with a five run inning. Colorado would add a run in the sixth inning to go up 9-7. Milwaukee would put up a strong effort in the bottom of the ninth when Brice Turang would bring Tyrone Taylor across the plate on an RBI single. Colorado would be able to escape the final inning victorious. Both teams were explosive at the plate getting a combined 25 hits. Milwaukee would have 13 of them.

Milwaukee is now 12-10 in Spring Training. Their next game will be a night one on Thursday against the San Francisco Giants at 9:05 P.M.
