The off-season moves stay mostly internal for the Green Bay Packers. On Wednesday, Green Bay inked 15 year NFL veteran Marcedes Lewis to a two-year deal. The deal is worth up to $8 million over the two years, with $2.1 million guaranteed. This coming season will be the fourth in green and gold for Lewis. Following his first twelve seasons in Jacksonville, Lewis, a former first round pick in 2006, signed with Green Bay before the 2018 season. Lewis found his niche for the Packers as their “run-blocking” tight end, but in 2020 also had his most productive season receiving for Green Bay with three touchdowns. Lewis is the only first round selection to have caught a TD pass from Aaron Rodgers in his career.
Many were eager to see what the Packers would do this off-season, but the only splashes made have been keeping players home. Green Bay signed Long Snapper Joe Fortunato, who was with the Dallas Cowboys in 2020.
