The Kewaunee cross country teams used strong pack running to capture both races hosted by Green Bay West Tuesday afternoon.
In the boys' race, Kewaunee's Cameron Cullen tackled the 5K course in 17:57, winning the race by over a minute over Green Bay West's Alexander Knutson. The Storm placed four in the top ten, capturing the race with 26 points while Green Bay West scored 39 points and Green Bay East 56 points. Gibraltar, Sturgeon Bay, and Gibraltar did not have enough runners to score.
In the girls' division, Kewaunee won as a team by default with 15 points, but it was Sturgeon Bay's Julia Kurek winning the race with a 5K time of 22:52. That was about 90 seconds faster than the second-place finisher, Gibraltar's Betsy Lecy.
Many of these same teams will race against each other next Tuesday in Kewaunee.
