A different course and a different week yielded the same result for Kewaunee's Cameron Cullen and Sturgeon Bay's Julia Kurek on Tuesday afternoon at Bruemmer Park.
For the second week in a row, the pair won their respective division as the boys and girls raced together on a cold day in Kewaunee. Cullen ran a season-best 17:33 on the 5K, topping second-place finisher Alex Knutson of Green Bay West by over 30 seconds. The Storm toppled Green Bay West for the second week in a row, though the Wildcats did narrow the gap in their second race of the year 32-39. Green Bay East finished with 49 points while Sturgeon Bay and Gibraltar fielded incomplete teams.
Kurek won the girls' race with a time of 22:16 on the 5K course, besting Kewaunee's Kaaryn Smidel and Hannah Morton by over a minute. Kewaunee posted a perfect 15 points as the only team to field a complete roster.
Next up for many of the teams is sectionals.
