Luxemburg-Casco fishing team prepares for second season

One of the few local high school teams to compete in the spring and summer is ready for another season on the water.

The Luxemburg-Casco Fishing Team is preparing for another year after its inaugural year saw two anglers, Charlie Simonar and Ethan Jerabek finish in fifth place in the Wisconsin High School Bass Fishing Championships in Winneconne. At least 15 kids are coming back to the team this year and coach Brian Eisch says right now they are doing meetings to prepare until they can get out on the water.

Eisch says finding volunteer boaters is tough, but he added that it is rewarding to see the kids succeed.

The Luxemburg-Casco Fishing Team will compete at local lakes before the state championships are held on the Mississippi River off the shores of LaCrosse later this year. Eisch thanks the team's 17 sponsors for helping support the team, which has to travel and stay in hotels for nearly all of its tournaments.
