Kewaunee's Cameron Cullen and Sturgeon Bay's Julia Kurek proved they could hang with the state's best at the WIAA Alternative Spring State Meet on Saturday in Janesville.
Cullen's 17:11 and Kurek's 21:54 were among their season's best times if not personal records despite not finishing in the top half of their respective fields. Teams across all divisions ran single boys and girls races at Black Hawk Golf Course in Janesville.
