Jon Cooper (2008-10), head coach of Tampa Bay, is looking to repeat. Cooper is not the only former Gamblers head coach on the Lightning bench, he is assisted by Derek Lalonde (2011-14).
Nick Jensen of the Washington Capitols (2008-10), Austin Czarnik, New York Islanders (2010-11) and Winnipeg Jets team captain Blake Wheeler (2004-05)) are all looking to hoist their first Stanley Cup. Anders Lee (2009-10), a fixture with the Islanders and team captain, will miss the playoffs due to a season-ending knee injury he sustained in March. The NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs are televised on the NBC family of networks.
