Spartans girls soccer shut down Marines, face Peshtigo

The Luxemburg-Casco girls soccer team rebounded from a pair of losses last week with a big 7-1 win over Marinette Monday night.

It was a reversal of fortunes for both teams as the Spartans went 1-2 last week and the Marines had shut out two consecutive opponents.  Heather Iverson and Tara Dhuey scored two goals apiece while Haley Paye, Jillian Lynts and Cadence Trimberger each chipped in one tally as well. The Spartans will get one more tune-up before the playoffs begin later this week with a home match against Peshtigo at 6:30 p.m.

The Packerland Conference's teams will have off until Thursday's start of the WIAA playoffs.
