Luxemburg-Casco's Smith qualifies for state golf meet

Luxemburg-Casco junior Zach Smith still has more golf to play after qualifying for the state meet earlier this week.

 

Smith shot a 78 at the Par 71 Waushara Country Club in Wautoma to finish the day tied for fifth place with Peshtigo's Grant Bauman. Smith defeated Bauman in a tiebreaker The Spartans finished in eighth place as a team with a score of 345.

Christian Rasmussen 85

TJ Weinfurter 90

Caden Lukes 92

Ethan Marach 104

 

The area had two other golfers qualify for their respective sectional meet, but did not qualify for next week's state championships at Trapper's Turn in Wisconsin Dells. Golfing for Gibraltar, Teddy Roth finished the day on the Par 72 Hunter's Glen course in Crivitz with a score of 107 and 47th place. Payton Thomas was one stroke with a score of 108.
