Three of the state’s marquee baseball teams won tight contests on Friday. A seventh inning rally lifted the Milwaukee Brewers past the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday, by a final score of 7-4. In the seventh, the Brewers scored five runs, taking advantage of a two-run double by Christian Yelich and getting three batters on base by way of a walk. The Brewers will be in action again on Saturday with the first pitch thrown at 3:10 PM.
The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers also had a late rally, scoring four runs in the ninth inning against the South Bend Cubs. The Rattlers were down 2-1 heading into their final frame, and won the game 5-2. The Timber Rattlers will be back at home on Saturday against South Bend. The game starts at 6:05 PM.
The Green Bay Booyah had their second win in Mequon this season when they beat the Lakeshore Chinooks 4-3 on Friday evening. On Saturday they will go to the state’s capital and face the Madison Mallards. The game will start at 6:35 PM.
