Rain delays don't slow Booyah; Rattlers start slow

A pair of area baseball teams had vastly different outcomes in their Thursday games.

Green Bay Booyah

Despite having weather hold up the game in two different instances on Thursday, the Green Bay Booyah still beat the Fon Du Lac Dock Spiders, 5-1. The Dock Spiders got on the board to open up the game, but that would be their only run throughout the game. The Booyah scored the next inning on a Tristin Garcia RBI single. The Booyah took the lead when Nathan Blasick got to first on a walk with the bases loaded. Blasick’s big day continued, hitting a ground-rule double that brought two runs across. Blasick would get around himself, and make the score 5-1.

Another big-time performer for the Booyah was one of the areas own, Connor Langreder. The De Pere native sat down eight of the fourteen batters he faced, giving up just a hit through 4.1 innings. The Booyah finished with five runs on seven hits and two errors. For the Dock Spiders, they scored a run on five hits and an error. The next game for Green Bay is against Fon du Lac again on Friday, but this time on the road.

Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

A disastrous start plagued the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in their 13-3 loss to the Quad Cities River Bandits on Thursday. Quad Cities scored twelve runs in the top half of the first inning, which decided the ball game. The Rattlers scored three runs in the top of the seventh to tighten the gap, but that’s all the closer they got. The Timber Rattlers have another road game against Quad Cities on Friday starting at 6:30 PM.
