Brewers win in exciting fashion; Booyah postponed

On back-to-back nights, area teams had weather throw a wrench into their plans to play games.

Milwaukee Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers found themselves in a 4-0 hole after the top half of the seventh inning against the Colorado Rockies on Friday but found their way out. Keston Hiura and Kolten Wong each drove the ball over the fence for solo home runs the next two innings. Hiura’s came in the bottom of the seventh and Wong’s was in the eighth. Down two, the Brewers found magic in the bottom of the ninth, when Willy Adames brought Omar Narvaez home on a two-run home run. In extra innings, Hiura came through again, this time with a sacrifice fly, scoring Manny Pina, and winning the game. The final score ended up 5-4, and Milwaukee will go toe-to-toe with the Rockies on Saturday at 3:10 PM.

Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers had a rare type of night at the ballpark, where they finished a game that was called short on Thursday. The Timber Rattlers took that win over the Peoria Chiefs, 9-3. Friday’s restart began with a runner on third for Wisconsin, who was brought home on a sac fly. The game ended up going its entire intended nine innings. The Rattlers and Chiefs played a seven-inning game after. The game entered the top of the seventh as a tie game and Peoria scored four runs. Wisconsin would try to come back but would just score one, and the second matchup ended in a 7-4 loss for the Timber Rattlers. With the first game victory, Wisconsin is up to twenty wins this season.

Green Bay Booyah

The Green Bay Booyah were gearing up for their second game of a back-to-back with the Madison Mallards, but that has been postponed to August 9th. The Booyah play at home against the Lakeshore Chinooks on Saturday at 6:35 PM.
