University of Wisconsin Green Bay named Josh Moon their tenth Athletic Director in school history on Tuesday. Moon has been in athletics administration for over 18 years and has spent the last nine as Athletic Director at Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD. UWGB Chancellor Michael Alexander said of the move in a press release that the UW-Green Bay athletic department has tremendous potential to expand and deepen its connection to the region and that Moon is the person to help get them there. While at Northern State, Moon oversaw a department that sponsored 15 athletic programs with approximately 400 student-athletes. The men’s basketball program won four NSIC Conference titles and were the national runner-up in 2018. Women’s basketball earned five straight trips to the NCAA tournament and volleyball has won back-to-back NSIC titles. Moon said in the press release he’s excited to return to his home state of Wisconsin and to engage with the Green Bay and Fox Valley regions. Moon attended UW-La Crosse and is from Wautoma, Wisconsin.
