Eleven-man football completes first week of practice

One week of practice is in the books for the state's eleven-man football teams.

Squads like Kewaunee, Southern Door, and Luxemburg-Casco were allowed to hit the practice field this week for the first time. It was a shorter lay-off for the Storm, which unlike the Spartans and the Eagles played in the alternative fall season this spring.

Algoma, Gibraltar, Sevastopol, and Sturgeon Bay can get their gridiron work beginning on August 9th.  That's the same day girls' golf teams can head back to the links for practice.

The area's other athletes still have some waiting to do. Girls volleyball and girls tennis begin on August 10th. Cross country, boys' soccer, and girls' volleyball begins on August 16th.
