Booyah drop pair to Mallards

The Green Bay Booyah left Warner Park without a win after dropping both ends of a doubleheader against the Madison Mallards Monday.

In game 1, the Mallards jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back in a 10-5 win over the Booyah. It was 10-1 before the Booyah scored four runs in the seventh inning. Jack Duffy had a pair of RBI while Nathan Blasick had three hits and an RBI.

In game 2, an error brought the winning run to the plate to give the Mallards the 4-3 extra-innings victory in the nightcap over the Booyah. Nadir Lewis went yard for the Booyah to give them a 1-0 lead, only to see the Mallards take a 3-1 lead a few innings later. Spencer Weston drove in an unearned run on a double and eventually scored on a sacrifice fly by Tristin Garcia to tie the game at three in the fifth inning. In the bottom of the ninth, Bryant Shellenbarger scored on an errant throw by the shortstop to give the Mallards their second win of the day.

The two teams will play only once on Tuesday, this time at 6:35 p.m. in Madison.
