America's Dairyland claimed its second professional basketball championship on Sunday when the Wisconsin GLO toppled the St. Louis Surge 93-77.
The Surge had dealt the GLO their first losses in franchise history, so the final result was anything but guaranteed. The Surge even held a two-point lead heading into the halftime, break, but the GLO shined bright in the third quarter with a 31-15 offensive explosion.
Kelly Moten scored 30 points in the playoff finale, earning her MVP honors. Taylor Wurtz, former Green Bay standout Julie Wojta, and Sam Logic also reached double-figures in scoring. It was the second straight Global Women's Basketball Association championship for the GLO.
