Packers to officially battle Jets; Packers sign wide receiver

After joint practices for just the second time in the last 16 years were held with the New York Jets throughout the week, the Packers will take on the Jets Saturday with the actual score being kept. The Packers will try to get their first win of the exhibition season with Kurt Benkert taking the first-team snaps as Green Bay saves Aaron Rodgers for the regular season and Jordan Love is nursing a shoulder injury. The Packers previously fell to the Houston Texans 26-7 last Saturday in their preseason game while the Jets beat their cross-town opponent, the New York Giants, 12-7. Saturday’s game starts at 3:25 PM.

In a quick drop and pick-up, the Green Bay Packers released cornerback Dominique Martin and signed wide receiver Damon Hazelton. The wide receiver just missed out on giving Packer fans a sneak peek, as he was with Houston until August 11th, just three days before they came to Green Bay.
