Rattlers prevail in extra innings as regular season nears end

With just a game left in the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers regular season, they were able to get an exciting 8-6 victory in ten innings over the Great Lakes Loons and go up 4-1 in the series. The Rattlers got out to a fast start, scoring four runs in the top of the second inning with RBI doubles by Alex Hall and Sal Frelick. Wisconsin had their 4-0 lead cut to 4-3 after four innings.

Frelick got another RBI, hitting a single, in the top of the sixth inning to make the score 5-3. In extras and with the score tied at five, Chad McClanahan hit a three-run home run to go up 8-5. The Loons responded with one run, but it wouldn’t be enough. With the win, Wisconsin has a 58-60 record overall. The two teams will meet again on Sunday for the regular season finale, at 12:05 PM.
