The Sevastopol volleyball team will honor one its program's best squads ahead of its match against Gibraltar Thursday.
It was 30 years ago when the Pioneers brought home the gold ball in the sport, beating Cuba City to take the title. The Pioneers could be on their way towards something similar as they boast a 23-5 mark on the season and 8-2 record over their last 10 matches. The Vikings have lost their last four matches including Tuesday's 3-0 loss to Southern Door.
The 1991 team will be honored after the JV game at around 6:15-6:30 p.m. The varsity game will start at 7 p.m.
Other volleyball matches scheduled for Thursday include Luxemburg-Casco hosting Marinette, Southern Door holding Senior Night festivities against Algoma, and Kewaunee visiting Peshtigo. Those matches also begin at 7 p.m.
