Volleyball Roundup:  Algoma advances, Sturgeon Bay, Kewaunee, and Gibraltar fall

WIAA Regional volleyball began on the courts Tuesday evening with one local team advancing in the tournament.

 

In Division 2, Freedom ended the Sturgeon Bay Clipper season by sweeping the match, three games to none.   The Irish dominated after a close first game with scores of 25-23- 25-11, 25-21. 

 

In Division 3, Algoma beat Southern Door in the first round of Regionals in Brussels.

25-23, 25-23, 25-20. 

 

Kewaunee lost to Sheboygan Area Lutheran 20-25, 25-20,
25-20, 25-8.

 

In Division 4, Oakfield edged Gibraltar in five-game 25-18, 23-25,
20-25, 25-23, 15-1.  Oakfield will now take on #1 seeded Sevastopol on Thursday in a regional semi-final.
