The Milwaukee Bucks began the NBA season Tuesday night the way they ended their 2021 championship campaign in July. The Bucks only trialed 2-0, before going on a big run in the first quarter to convincingly win over the Brooklyn Nets 127-104.
Jumping out to a big first-quarter lead that settled with a 37-24 lead after one, the Bucks never let the Nets get closer than five points the rest of the way. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way for the Bucks with 32 points, 14 rebounds, and seven assists, as the Nets had no answer for the reigning MVP. Khris Middleton chipped in 20 points and nine rebounds, while Pat Connaughton had a big game off the bench with 20 points and 4/9 shooting from the three-point arc.
The Bucks received their championship rings prior to the game, and starter Jrue Holiday only played 17 minutes before leaving the game with an injury. Milwaukee will now travel to play the Miami Heat on Thursday night with tip-off set for 7 pm.
