Wisconsin running backs Chez Mellusi and Braelon Allen combined for 289 rushing yards and scored three touchdowns to lead the Badgers to a 30-13 road win against #25 Purdue on Saturday afternoon.
The Badger defense forced five turnovers and shutout the Boilermakers in the second half to preserve the win. Purdue had -13 yards rushing in 23 attempts and lost two fumbles on the ground.
After a 13-13 tie at halftime, the Badgers took the lead for good on a 20-yard Mellusi run, after Allen ran 70 yards to set up the touchdown that made the score 20-13.
Linebacker Leo Chenal led the defense with nine tackles, 3.5 sacks, and 5.5 tackles for loss. Wisconsin (4-3, 2-2 Big Ten) will now host Iowa next Saturday.
