First period dooms Gamblers

Green Bay Gamblers goalie Rastislav Elias gave up four first-period goals in a 6-2 loss to the Chicago Steel on Friday night.

The first-year goalie saw 21 shots on goal in the opening period compared to just 12 for the Gamblers. Sam Lipkin registered a goal and an assist in the decisive frame for the Steel while Brody Lamb was able to notch his third goal of the season with just over 90 seconds left in the period for the Gamblers. The Steel would notch another two more goals in the second period while a third-period tally was welcomed in the third period by Cameron Lund.

The Gamblers' road trip continues when they make their return trip to Madison on Saturday to face the Capitols.
