Badgers double up Phoenix at home

The Wisconsin Badgers continued their dominance of their in-state foe Friday night, defeating the Green Bay Phoenix 72-34.

 

The Badgers saw Brad Davison, Jonathan Davis, and Steven Crowl reach double figures on the evening with Crowl scoring 18 points and grabbing seven rebounds. Much like the Badgers have been able to do against their in-state rivals from mid-major conferences, they dominated in the paint with 32 points scored. They also forced the Phoenix into 13 turnovers, many of which in the first half where the Badgers were able to build a 39-15 halftime lead. The Badgers led by more than 40 points in the second half before both teams used the blowout as an opportunity to explore their depth. No Phoenix player scored more than six points in the contest. Cem Kirciman and Tutu Majok led the Phoenix with five points in the loss. 

 

The Phoenix play UNC Greensboro and the Badgers play Providence in their next games respectively. In more Green Bay basketball action, the Phoenix women open their home slate Saturday with an matinee against North Dakota State.
