The high school girl's basketball season opened in the area on Tuesday as four local teams battled on the hardwoods. 

Kewaunee defeated Luxemburg-Casco 49-38 in Luxemburg as the Storm opened with a strong performance against the Lady Spartans of the North Eastern Conference. 

The Algoma Wolves girls basketball team fell in their opener with a 36-27 non-conference loss to the Ashaubenon Jaguars. 

Southern Door Eagles dropped a non-conference game to Shiocton  59-34 at home.
