Phoenix women right ship versus Wright State

The Green Bay Phoenix women's basketball team used a big first half to get past Wright State Saturday afternoon 78-67.

 

The Phoenix outscored the Raiders 49-32 after the first two quarters to put some distance between the two squads in the second half. The lead was made possible by a 14-0 run in the first quarter and a 12-0 stretch in the second stanza. The Phoenix led by as much as 21 points in the fourth quarter before the Raiders were able to narrow the lead in the end.  Hailey Oskey led the way with 21 points for the Phoenix while Brooklyn Blackburn reached a career-high with 15 points. Destyne Jackson led the Raiders in scoring with 17 points. Three others scored double figures.

 

The Phoenix women head to Las Vegas for a tournament where they will face Oklahoma State and SMU.

 

The Phoenix men play again Sunday afternoon where they will face Weber State in St. Petersburg, Fla.
