Badgers, Davis too much for Marquette

Johnny Davis scored 25 points and the #23 Wisconsin Badgers defeated the Marquette Golden Eagles 89-76 in the state's biggest college basketball rivalry on Saturday in Madison.

The first half saw both teams struggle from the field and Wisconsin managed to take a 34-31 lead into halftime.

The Badgers used a balance attack to keep Marquette off balance in the second half.  Brad Davison scored 20 points for the game along with Davis to lead the Badgers, who also got 15 points from Steven Crowl and Tyler Wahl.

Justin Lewis led Marquette with 15 points as the Golden Eagles could not defeat the Badgers for the second consecutive year.

Wisconsin (7-1) will host Indiana on Wednesday to open Big Ten play, while Marquette (7-2) will travel to Kansas State on Wednesday.
