UCLA too much for Marquette

The Marquette Golden Eagles came on strong at the end but it was not enough to overcome the #4 UCLA Bruins who prevailed 67-56 Saturday night at Fiserv Forum.

The game was rescheduled for eight hours later than the original time of 1:30 pm when UCLA had flight delays coming into Milwaukee.

UCLA jumped out to a 31-11 lead and never where seriously challenged after that.  Leading by as much as 23 points, the Bruins held the Golden Eagles to just 33.3 percent in shooting.

Marquette was led by Greg Elliott who scored 22 points with six three-pointers.  Justin Lewis added 12 points and nine rebounds.

UCLA was led by Jaime Jacquez, Jr. with 24 points and 11 rebounds.

Marquette (8-2)  will now start Big East action next Saturday against Xavier in Cincinnati, Ohio at 3pm.
