Packers host Vikings in final regular season home game

The Green Bay Packers (12-3) will face the Minnesota Vikings (7-8) in what will be the last regular season home game of the 2021 season.

Temperatures for Sunday’s game are expected to be well below zero which should favor the Packers. The Packers have already clinched the NFC North title, and are working towards securing the number 1 seed for the playoffs with wins over the Vikings and Lions in the final two games. The Vikings on the other hand will need a win to keep any playoff hopes they have alive.

The Vikings won the first matchup with Green Bay this year at U.S Bank Stadium in Minnesota, but since then the Packers have won four straight games. The Packers are a perfect 7-0 this year at Lambeau Field with the last home win coming last week against the Cleveland Browns. With a win on Sunday night the Packers would be looking at their third straight season with at least 13 wins.

Two things to note for the opposing Vikings is that they are getting RB Dalvin Cook back from injury which should help boost their run game against a Packer defense that has fallen susceptible to letting running backs have their way. Secondly, QB Kirk Cousins tested positive for COVID-19 and since he is unvaccinated will miss Sunday’s game.

Kickoff is set for 7:20 PM from Lambeau Field.
