Gibraltar boys lose late to Peshtigo on 105.1 The GOAT

The Gibraltar boys' basketball team saw another first-half lead slip away as they fell to the Peshtigo Bulldogs 73-64 in Fish Creek.

The Vikings' offense dictated the pace early on in the game, building up an eight-point lead heading into the break. Helping give the Vikings that cushion was Jake Schar hitting two straight three-pointers and Sam Lindenberg scoring 14 of his team-high 20 points.

After the Vikings were able to withstand an initial surge to build a 10-point lead, the Bulldogs swung the pendulum hard in their favor. Muaz Salem, Landon Lemke, and Jacob Berth hit some big shots while sinking the Vikings into a three-minute-plus scoring drought to take the lead and extend it to as much as 11 late in the second half. The Vikings were able to get it to within five points, but the Bulldogs hit their free throws and forced some key turnovers at the end of the game to hold off the rally.

The Vikings will head to Goodman-Pembine on Thursday for a 7:15 tip before visiting Sevastopol on Saturday. 105.1 The GOAT will provide the broadcast of that game beginning at 7 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the tip at 7:30 p.m.
