The Green Bay Gamblers will host a pair of games this weekend against the league-leading and defending champion Chicago Steel.
The Gamblers are coming off an exciting 5-2 victory over the Madison Capitols on New Year's Eve where Jackson Hallum scored his 14th goal of the season. The momentum from that victory was stunted when Cedar Rapids had to cancel its Saturday matchup against the Gamblers due to COVID-19 concerns.
The Steel have picked up where they left off last year when they won the USHL title. With 43 points, they have a five-point lead over second-place Dubuque despite losing to Madison 4-2 in their last game on Sunday. Similar to last year's squad, four of the top six scorers in the USHL lace up for the Steel.
Friday and Saturday's games feature 7:05 p.m. puck drops and will air on 104.1 WRLU and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com with Tobin Meyer on the call.
