Saturday boys' basketball preview; Kewaunee, Algoma, Southern Door all taking part in weekend action

The Kewaunee Storm, Algoma Wolves, and Southern Door Eagles boys’ basketball teams will all be in action on Saturday January 8th. In addition to those three teams, the Gibraltar Vikings will be taking on the Sevastopol Pioneers. Kewaunee/Peshtigo: The Kewaunee Storm will travel to take on the Peshtigo Bulldogs who are undefeated in Packerland Conference play so far this season. Kewaunee is coming off of a big conference win against the Oconto Blue Devils on Tuesday, winning that game by a score of 54-42. The Storm are going to look to their 3 top offensive scorers to keep the momentum going against Peshtigo. Ben Heim is leading the way averaging 18 points per game, Cameron Cullen is averaging 16 points per game, and Sawyer Pribek is averaging 10 points per game. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m. from Peshtigo High School. 


Algoma/Southern Door: The Algoma Wolves and the Southern Door Eagles will face off in another Packerland Conference matchup on Saturday. Southern Door has won back to back games including an impressive 32 point victory over conference rival Sturgeon Bay. Drew Daoust is leading the Eagles averaging 17 points per game and Jared Hawkey is averaging 10 points per game. As for Algoma, they are coming off of a win against Sevastopol their last time out and are looking to keep that momentum going against the Eagles. The Wolves have three players averaging double figures with Carter Zimmerman leading the charge averaging 24 points per game, Owen Robertson is averaging 12 points per game, and Kaden Vardon averaging 12 points per game. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m. from Southern Door High School.
