First-half run sinks Eagles girls vs. Oconto on 104.1 WRLU

A 14-0 run to end the first half proved to be the difference in the Southern Door girls' basketball team's 71-56 Thursday.

The Blue Devils stuck with what worked in the two team's first match-up by forcing turnovers early in the Eagles' possessions and capitalizing on the opportunity. The Eagles stuck with the Blue Devils with Callie Miller and Paige Olson providing a spark on offense to get them to within four of the Packerland Conference leaders. The Blue Devils turned it on from there, shutting the Eagles down for the final three minutes while scoring the half's final 14 points.

The two teams played relatively even in the second half with the Blue Devils eventually stretching the lead to over before the Eagles were able to cut the deficit thanks to a big effort offensively from Ashlynn Delfosse. Olson and Delfosse led the Eagles with 11 points apiece while Kendra Shimon chipped in eight points. Addisyn Viestenz led all scorers with 23 points while Lianna Baxter added 15.

The Eagles' next game is against Peshtigo.
