Gibraltar girls look for first win against NEW Lutheran on 105.1 The GOAT

The Gibraltar girls basketball team hope a little home cooking will spark them to their first victory of the season when NEW Lutheran comes to town Friday night.

The Vikings have struggled mightily this season thus far, averaging less than 30 points per game. Skewing that average was their matchup earlier this week against Kewaunee where the Storm won in convincing fashion 78-15. The Blazers are near the bottom of the Packerland as well with a 3-7 record. They lost to Algoma on Monday 48-37 despite 12 points from Leah Schmidt.

The Blazers were buoyed by a 16 point lead at halftime in their win over Gibraltar earlier this season by a final score of 54-39. The Vikings had three players reach double figures in the loss, led by Andie Schar's 12 points.

Tim Kowols and Reece Robillard will have the call on 105.1 The GOAT beginning at 7 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the opening tip at 7:30 p.m.

In other girls' basketball action, Luxemburg-Casco struggled against Fox Valley Lutheran 72-30 Thursday night while on Friday Southern Door hosts Sevastopol, Algoma stays at home to battle OcontoSturgeon Bay faces Peshtigo, and Kewaunee plays at home against West DePere. Those games begin at 7:30 p.m.
