One game was played Thursday ahead of Friday night's big slate including one game on NEW Radio Sports Network, but it came with a major accolade.
Algoma's Carter Zimmerman scored the points he needed to break the all-time scoring record of Mark Wautlet, who had scored 1,223 in 80 games. Zimmerman was able to do it in 77 games while the Wolves beat Sturgeon Bay 62-59.
On 105.1 The GOAT, Gibraltar will travel south to Brussels to face Southern Door in a battle of two of the hottest teams in the Packerland Conference. Since the Eagles beat the Vikings 60-53 in Fish Creek, both teams have gone 7-2. The Vikings beat Sevastopol 75-40 and the Eagles held off Algoma 64-51. Both teams feature 20 point scorers, though the Vikings rely on the senior leadership of Sam Lindenberg while freshman Drew Daoust has been leading the way for the Eagles. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. on 105.1 The GOAT with the pregame beginning with Reece Robillard and Bryan Mazur on the call at 7 p.m.
Other games scheduled for Friday include Sevastopol hosting Kewaunee at 7:30 p.m. and Luxemburg-Casco traveling to Wrightstown for a 7 p.m. tip.
