Gibraltar's Lindenberg closes in on 1,000 points on 105.1 The GOAT

Gibraltar's Sam Lindenberg could join some elite company on Monday night when they host Sturgeon Bay on Monday night.

After scoring 24 points in the Vikings' loss to Southern Door on Friday night, Lindenberg is just three points away from registering 1,000 points in his career. The Vikings saw a six-game winning streak end on Friday, but it was enough to help them secure #4 seed in the WIAA Division 5 playoffs which gives them a home game against Suring next Tuesday.

The Clippers are going through the imaginable after learning Saturday that their longtime head coach Jim Benesh passed away from cancer. They have also lost four of their last five games despite strong performances from Isaak Aune (14.3 ppg) and Preston Newton (11.5 ppg) in recent games.

Other Packerland Conference games scheduled for Monday include Algoma hosting Gresham, Sevastopol playing at NEW Lutheran, and Southern Door traveling to Kewaunee on 104.1 WRLU. Below are the playoff matchups for the area's teams, all of which will begin their run to Madison next Tuesday at 7 p.m.:

DIVISION 3

Southern Door vs. New Holstein

Sturgeon Bay at Kewaunee

DIVISION 4

The game will be broadcast on 105.1 The GOAT and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com beginning at 7 p.m. with the pregame and senior night festivities and 7:30 p.m. with the tip off.
