A Wisconsin basketball coaching legend has passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.

First reported by the USA Today Network- Wisconsin, Sturgeon Bay head basketball coach Jim Benesh passed away on Saturday from complications with cancer. He took over the boys' program in 1995, leading them to over 400 wins in the progress. Earlier this season, Benesh was recognized in a pre-game ceremony after he was named to the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. 

Sturgeon Bay basketball is not the only one with a huge void to fill. Benesh had also been serving as the school's softball coach prior to his passing.
