L-C's Ronsman, Kewaunee's Thompson in line for state titles Saturday

Two Kewaunee County wrestlers have a chance to go for gold beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday at the WIAA State Wrestling Tournament in Madison.

Mitchell Thompson won his two matches on Friday while Ezra Ducat won his final match of the day on Friday to stave off elimination in wrestlebacks. The two will compete at the Kohl Center on Saturday.

Max Ronsman won his two matches representing Luxemburg-Casco, but there will be no repeat champion on the Luxemburg-Casco wrestling roster this year. Easton Worachek lost a tough match to Danny Heiser of Evansville 8-5. He still has the opportunity to medal like Trace Schoenebeck and Hunter Joniaux, but he will have to survive wrestlebacks to do it.

Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol's Ben Roman was pinned twice Friday to end his weekend in Madison.
