Packers heading to London

For the first time in franchise history, the Green Bay Packers are leaving the country for a regular-season game.

The NFL announced on Monday that the Packers would be playing as the home team in one of the five international games scheduled for the 2022 season and one of two contests to be played at the home of the Tottenham Hotspur. Other games are scheduled for Mexico City, Wembley Stadium in London, and Munich.

The Packers are the last franchise to play in a regular-season game overseas. The Packers had always argued that giving up a home game would be too hard on the local economy and other teams were unwilling to give up one of their home dates because of the draw of Green Bay fans. The latest Collective Bargaining Agreement, which gave teams nine home games in alternating years during the regular season, changed that.

Do not buy your flights quite yet though as the specific dates, matchups, and kickoff times will be announced this summer when the rest of the 2022 slate is scheduled.
