Local baseball options not affected by lockout

You will still be able to watch baseball this spring and early summer no matter how long it takes the Milwaukee Brewers to take the field.

The MLB owners and players could not come to a deal on Tuesday, which caused Commissioner Rob Manfred to cancel the first two series of the season including the pomp and circumstance of opening day. That means Brewers fans will not be able to catch their home team play at American Family Field until the middle of April at the earliest due to a seven-game road trip after their opening week homestand.

Baseball teams at other levels across the country took advantage of the opportunity to tell fans that the lockout does not impact their operations and that they will start on time. The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers made that clear last month despite their direct affiliation with the Brewers. Their tickets go on sale on March 12th with opening day scheduled for April 8th. The Green Bay Rockers uses college players, so they will likely begin on time on May 30th with their first home game scheduled for May 31st. The Milwaukee Milkmen of the American Association of Professional Baseball will start on time as well on May 13th.
