Gibraltar sends off their sectional champions

The Gibraltar boys' basketball team practiced in their home gym one more time before they head off to Madison Thursday morning for their date at this weekend's WIAA State Tournament.

The secondary school's students and staff along with parents and other community members filled the Gibraltar gymnasium for a pep rally Wednesday afternoon. Students from the elementary school also got to participate from the comfort of their own classrooms.

Players were introduced to the music of Jock Jams before hosting an impromptu dunk contest. Coaches were also introduced before athletic director Peggy Tanck gave final instructions ahead of Friday's trip down from Fish Creek on a pair of full coach buses. Coach Justin Burress expressed his appreciation to the team for their effort and the community for their support.

You can catch the Gibraltar Vikings heading out of town Thursday morning when the bus leaves Fish Creek a little after 8 a.m.

You will be able to follow NEW Radio Sports Network Thursday and Friday as we head down for the game, including our live broadcast beginning at 8:30 a.m. on 105.1 The GOAT.
