Gibraltar baseball splits pair

The Gibraltar baseball won one and lost another as they competed in Mauston on Saturday.

In game one, they plated seven in the final two innings to beat Florence 10-7. Ryan Jorgenson led the way for the Vikings with seven strikeouts over 5 innings while giving up three runs on the mound. He also went 1 for 3 with two runs scored. Kevin Krauel had two hits and drove in a pair.

In game two, it was the middle innings that doomed the Vikings as they lost to Escanaba 7-3. Sam  Lindenberg was the pitcher of record as he gave up four runs (two earned) over 3 1/3 innings with control a bit of an issue (four walks, three strikeouts). He did his part to make up for it at the plate, going three for three with two RBI and a run scored. Cooper Cole knocked in the other run while Brady Kita had two hits.
