The Green Bay Gamblers were swept out of Chicago on Saturday, losing to the Steel 10-3.
The Steel scored multiple goals in every period, including six in the decisive third period. The Gamblers were down 2-0 when they opened the second period with goals from Ryan Greene and Brody Lamb. The Steel would go on to score the next six goals, including two in the second period to quickly end the Gamblers' hopes of taking the lead. The damage was done by the time Will Staring tallied a goal with the Steel answering with two unanswered scores. Cam Smith made his season debut with the Gamblers, making 31 saves on 41 shots.
The Gamblers return home on Sunday for a game against the Muskegon Lumberjacks. The Lumberjacks went winless in their two-game swing through Iowa with contests against Cedar Rapids and Dubuque. The Gamblers will try to keep them winless on their road trip back to Michigan when they host the Lumberjacks at 3:05 Sunday. The game will be broadcast on 104.1 WRLU and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com.
