Adrian Houser had another great outing on the mound but it was not enough as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Milwaukee Brewers 2-1.
Paul DeJong's RBI double in the fourth inning was all Houser let up in over five innings of work. He also struck out four in the process. Corey Dickerson added an insurance run for the Cardinals in the top of the 8th inning. It proved to be important run as Victor Caratini hit a solo shot in the bottom half. The Cardinals were able to secure the win for starting pitcher Steven Matz.
The Brewers will try for a series split Sunday afternoon at American Family FIeld at 1:10 p.m.
