Area high school girls soccer teams took the field Tuesday and battled hard while coming  up short on the scoreboard.

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers played to a scoreless tie 0-0 at halftime against Denmark, before a placekick by Elania Vanniewwenhoven propelled the Vikings to a 1-0 victory.  Drew Starr had a strong game in the goal for Sturgeon Bay.  

In other action, the Marinette Marines defeated Sevastopol/Gibraltar 7-1 in Fish Creek and Chilton topped the Kewaunee Storm 9-3.
