A run on wide receivers in the first round forced the hand of the Green Bay Packers war room, directing their efforts to improve their defense.
The Packers drafted Georgia inside linebacker Quay Walker with the 22nd pick and his teammate, defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt.
Picks 8, 10, 11, 12, and 16 were all wide receivers. Two teams traded picks for veteran wide receivers, possibly forcing the Packers to change strategies mid-draft.
The Packers have picks 53, 59, and 92 on day two of the draft, which begins at 6 p.m. For those focused on getting a wide receiver in the second and third rounds, Georgia's George Pickens, Western Michigan's Skyy Moore, and North Dakota State's Christian Watson are some of the players still available.
