England calling Packers this week

A pair of Packers-related announcements this week will have a decidedly British tone.

WLUK in Green Bay reported last week that Monday will be the day the organization potentially confirms its plans to host a soccer exhibition between Manchester City and Bayern Munich. Rumors about the contest began in March, but all the Packers have said is they are planning a major announcement for Monday and that participants in the event will be present. Both soccer clubs have announced plans for games in the United States.

The NFL announced last month that May 4th will be when its international slate of games will be announced. The Packers will play at the home of Tottenham Hot Spur against a yet-to-be-named opponent. The international contest will cost the Packers a home game, something the organization hopes the soccer exhibition will be able to replace.
