Track and Field Recap: Gibraltar girls grab third

The Gibraltar girls' track team had an impressive evening at the Division 3 Hilbert Regional on Monday.

 

The Vikings girls took third place out 13 teams with 81.50. Sevastopol finished in seventh and Algoma was tied for ninth. The boys' meet saw the Wolves take eighth with the Vikings taking ninth. The Pioneers took 12th.

 

Individual champions included:

Gibraltar: Connor Thompson (Pole Vault), Girls 4x800m, 

Algoma: Logan Borths (800m, shotput, 400m, and 100m in the wheelchair division)

 

With the top four in every event advancing to Thursday's sectional meet, Gibraltar will send 13 athletes, Algoma seven athletes, and Sevastopol three athletes to Rosholt.

The Luxemburg-Casco girls took third and the Kewaunee boys took fourth in the Wrightstown Regional.

 

Individual champions included:

Kewaunee: Lisa Reinke (shotput), Ben Heim (triple jump)

Luxemburg-Casco: John Larson (hurdles), Taylor Thiry (discus)

Southern Door: Danica Neville (400m)

 

Heading to sections include 21 athletes/events from Luxemburg-Casco, six from Sturgeon Bay, six from Southern Door, and 12 for Kewaunee.
