Tyrone Taylor hit a three-run home run in the top of the sixth-inning to break a 1-1 tie and carry the Milwaukee Brewers to a 4-1 victory over the San Diego Padres Tuesday evening.
Brewer starting pitcher Corbin Burnes (2-2) went six strong innings allowing just one earned run and five hits to pick up the win.
Taylor's monster blast to right field came off Padre reliever Craig Stammen, who just entered the game for starter Blake Snell (0-2) with one out in the sixth-inning.
Steve Brosseau hit his third home run in the fifth inning to tie the game at 1-1 for the Brewers (27-16).
The two teams will play the rubber game of the series on Wednesday afternoon with first pitch set for 3:10 pm.
